Albino Penis Envy, usually shortened to APE, is one of the most recognizable cubensis varieties in the Canadian scene. It is generally understood to be a cross between Penis Envy and an albino line (most accounts point to Albino A+), which gives it the dense, thick-stemmed Penis Envy build plus a ghostly white to pale-cream colouring. Caps are small, rounded, and often stay closed; stems are stubby and heavy for their size. Bluish bruising where the mushrooms were handled is common and is treated by experienced users as a normal trait, not a flaw.
