Tidal Wave is a Psilocybe cubensis variety that arrived on the scene fast and stuck around. It is a cross between Penis Envy and B+, bred to pair PE's strength with a more forgiving, easier-to-grow frame. The name comes from the caps: on many flushes they ripple and fold at the edges, which growers describe as looking like a wave rolling in.

Dried, Tidal Wave typically shows caramel to golden-brown caps, often with a paler rim, on thick, dense stems. Blue bruising is common and is a normal sign of handling, not a defect. Is Tidal Wave the same as Penis Envy?
No. Penis Envy is one of its parents, and Tidal Wave is commonly described as landing in a similar intensity range, but it has its own look and, according to many users, a faster and somewhat brighter character. It also tends to be easier to keep in consistent supply.

Why do the caps look wavy or uneven?
That rippled edge is the trait the strain is named for. Cap shape varies flush to flush, so some bags will show it strongly and others will look closer to a standard cubensis. Appearance does not tell you much about strength.

Can I microdose Tidal Wave?
